McLaughlin Woman Acquitted of Second Degree Murder Charge

United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a McLaughlin woman was found not guilty of Second Degree Murder on June 17, 2011, as a result of a federal jury trial in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Prairie Rose White Buffalo was indicted by a federal grand jury in August 2010.

The charges relate to the death of a McLaughlin man in April 2008.

The investigation was conducted by the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Standing Rock Agency, and the United States Attorney's Office prosecuted the case.
